2005 FAD Awards

Since FAD is now an ELLE UK approved read we decided to give out our own Year In Fashion Awards. Drumroll, please.

Dress of the Year Award goes to the classy figure-hugging number by Roland Mouret. It's the contemporary man-eating Hitchcock Femme look of 2005.
Fashion Burb of 2005 Award undoubtedly belongs to Sienna Miller-induced Boho: paisley dresses, tierd skirts, cowboy boots, hippy belts, gigantic wooden beads and bangles. The spread of the trend was propelled by a common misconception that a tiered skirt can conceal a large butt. Not true.
Magazine Cover of the Year Award goes to the first ever issue of Vogue China and its editor-in-chief Angelica Cheung. Fashion is opium for the people now widely available in its glossy form. Long live Mao and Conde Nast!

The Power Stylist of 2005 Award is for Rachel Zoe - the woman who, according to the LA Times, almost singlehandedly brought flat chests and anorexia back into fashion and is responsible for creating the new image for Hollywood's young starlets. Love it or hate it. Stay tuned for more...
